Little prints.

My parents bought me a Print Gocco set for Christmas (Thanks again, Mom and Dad!!) and I used it for the first time to make these little thank you cards. The bird is from a John James Audubon painting. I just love old biological and botanical drawings.

Anyways, the Gocco set was really easy to use and so wonderfully self contained. It was a lot of fun! I can't wait to try multiple colors and screens.

I also got some Mastercarve rubber stamp blocks for Christmas. I played around with them a bit and made these fun little stamps. The girl is from a 1941 book titled Cartooning and Commercial Art.

I really love carving these blocks. They are soooo soft and smooth - very unlike linoleum. And you can also print them just like store bought rubber stamps.

Handmade Gifts

Here are some of the gifts I made for this last Christmas.

For my sister and my sister-in-law, I made cute, girly aprons.

My mom and mother-in-law both got knit bracelets.

I also etched some beer mugs and wine glasses.

And I made some jammies, too. These are the ones I made for my father-in-law. They are being modeled by my fantabulous husband.

Holy Crap!

I can't believe how long it's been since my last post! Sorry about that, guys and gals. I got sidetracked over the holidays. I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice and/or whatever other holiday you celebrated. I had a great Christmas down in Santa Barbara with my family. I made all my gifts this year, which was great and I got some great craft stuff. I'll post pics of the highlights soon. It was also just really great to see everyone.

Unfortunately I haven't been keeping up with my drawing a day series, but I plan to just pick up where I left off. (I have such a hard time keeping up good habits when I travel.)

My other goals and projects for this year include getting my online shop up and running, independent from Etsy, making more art and doing some web design. One of my current web projects is a flash site for my amazing musician friend, Lisa Goe. (You can see a temp site I made for her at www.lisagoe.com.)
