Ornaments and Giveaway Winner!

New in the shop this week: Snowflake Christmas Ornaments!

My sister makes fantastic paper snowflakes, so I asked her to collaborate with me on this project. She mailed me a big envelope full of snowflakes that I used to create these ornaments.

Also, my Mug Giveaway has ended and Connie has been randomly selected as the winner! Congratulations, Connie!!

Santa Man

I made this little guy at the pottery studio. He now lives in Georgia with this crafty lady.

The base is a hollow ball, thrown on the wheel. I sculpted his arms, legs, and head and added them later. He's painted with underglaze and porcelain slip and then some clear glaze to make him shiny.

My influences for this guy include Tim Burton's Santa from the Nightmare Before Christmas, and Neil Gaiman's movie, Coraline, especially in the button eyes.

More Swap Love

Here's what I sent to my partner for the stocking swap.

I made these slippers by slightly modifying the Twinkletoes pattern from knitty.com

Biscuits for her pups.

Hand carved stamp.

Apple Cozy

Mini Stocking Ornament

Drawing of her hubby's vintage VW.

And, of course, the stocking. I sort of made up the pattern from a hodgepodge of sock patterns, stocking patterns and color patterns.

Mini Stockings

I made these little cuties for an ornament swap on craftster.

Details:
Pattern: Free Mini Christmas Stocking Pattern from Little Cotton Rabbits
Yarn: random scraps from my stash
Needles: US size 3 DPNs
Modifications: I used these instructions to create a pointy elf, style toe on them.

I love making these ornaments because I can use up some of those left over bits of yarn in my stash. Each finished stocking is about 5 inches from cuff to toe.

Persephone

My little brother called me up last week to ask me what he should name his guitar. He's been playing for about a year and for Christmas he got a Fender Stratocaster.

Everybody, meet Persephone.

No drawings this week. I've got a little too much on my plate right now, but I should be back at it in a week or two.

A few more card pictures

I finished gluing my Christmas cards today and I thought I'd share a couple more pictures with you. I made 69 of them all together. I love the way that they look, all laid out together. It's neat to see that, even though they all are made from such different images, they make such a cohesive pattern.

I'm a one woman card factory!

I love giving old things a new life, so over the summer I spent countless hours cutting these snowflakes out of old Christmas cards. Today I've spent most of the day gluing them onto card stock with little dots. I think I might embellish them some more, but I'm not sure yet.

I just love this santa one.

Feeling a bit frazzled.

Matt and I went home to SB for the holidays. We enjoyed two Thanksgivings and had a really fantastic time with our families. (This pic is the table at my parents' house.) It was really fun to catch up with my family, play with my little nephew and see Matt's brother and sisters and our friends. Matt's littlest sister turned 16 last Monday and Rachel turned 21 on Friday. It was an important birthday year so we were really glad to be there as much as we could.

Now that the holiday is over it's time for me to catch up on everything I let slide last week and to get serious about Christmas. Oi.... So much stuff to do.

Hope you all had a great holiday.

ps. I took a break from my daily drawings for Thanksgiving, but I'll post what I have later on this week.
